Rio Ferdinand left stunned at alleged racist chants from England football shirt fans

The FA says it will work with Fifa to investigate alleged racist chanting towards Rio Ferdinand during England’s match with San Marino last week and will ban anybody found guilty.

Ferdinand and his younger brother Anton are said to have been victim to sick chanting during England’s 8-0 victory over the European minnows, in the wake of the defender’s decision to refuse a call up to the squad over fitness concerns.

Anti-racism group cheap football jerseys Against Racism in Europe (Fare) confirmed yesterday that they have lodged a formal complaint with Fifa against the chanting, and the FA now says it will work with Fifa to investigate what happened.

‘The FA takes all incidents and allegations of racism extremely seriously,’ said an FA statement.

‘We recognise the importance of FARE’s responsibility to report any incidents to FIFA.

‘We will liaise with FIFA and work with them to assist any investigation. Should evidence of any racial chanting be found, we would expect action to be taken against any individuals.

‘The FA would terminate englandfans membership of any guilty members, while we would expect banning orders to be issued by the courts as a minimum penalty.

‘We do not want supporters who chant vile or racist abuse following the England football shirts team.’

The comments come just hours after Ferdinand admitted his shock at the chanting from his own supporters, telling his Twitter following he will support a full investigation.

‘You expect+accept banter from supporters on the terraces as its part of what makes the game great,but racism is not banter,& from ya own followers. WOW,’ he tweeted.

‘Always a small minority who ruin it for others.’

Fifa are yet to formally comment on the allegations, but are believed to be preparing an investigation into the chanting.

‘Let’s not jump to conclusions + assume though as it might just have been banter. We’ll see after the investigation.’

Rested and rejuvenated, Landon Donovan hopes to return for the U.S. nationwide workforce mix
The erstwhile attacker has returned on the Galaxy, and it is now shooting to become back over the area the moment probable for the two club and nation.

WASHINGTON – The Galaxy have welcomed Landon Donovan back with open arms. He now hopes the U.S. nationwide staff will do the same.

Donovan rejoined his Galaxy teammates in the nation's capital in time to visit the White House on Tuesday, in a ceremony honoring the team's second-straight MLS title. He addressed the media Thursday, the first time he's done so since returning from his self-imposed hiatus from soccer.

“I definitely needed a break,” Donovan said. “I was fortunate to have a lot of people each personally and professionally that also understood that. Now I’m excited for being back and to move forward and enjoy playing.”

Having last played a competitive match in December's MLS Cup triumph over Houston, Donovan eschewed call-ups on the nationwide staff and the beginning of the Galaxy's season to take a break from soccer. He was spotted traveling in Cambodia, but said the best part of his time away came closer to home.

“My favorite part was being home with my family. For 15 years I haven’t spent more than two weeks at a time with my family so it was really nice to do that,” Donovan said.

. Though he wasn't playing, Donovan was certainly an interested spectator.

After being the face of American soccer for a decade, Donovan was very open about feeling burned out throughout the course of the 2012 season, even floating the idea of retiring. Back with his teammates, however, the time away seemed to get just what the 31-year-old needed.

“This week was pretty difficult watching the U.S. in those games when you want to become a part of it. I’m glad that that feeling is back, it’s what I wanted,” he said, adding that watching the Galaxy's opening MLS game against Chicago gave him the “itch” to play again.

Moving forward, Donovan would not put a specific timetable on his return for the Galaxy. He did say he was initially targeting the team's April 6 match against Montreal before it was moved to accommodate the team's CONCACAF Champions League semifinal against Monterrey.

LA hosts Monterrey on April 3 in the first leg before traveling to Cheap mexico football shirt for the return leg on April 10. Galaxy fans will be hoping to see their star back for at least the second game, as the two-time defending CCL champions will certainly be formidable opposition.

Donovan is also back available for selection to your nationwide workforce, though he knows he'll have to fight for his place.

“I realize I have a long way to go each within the area and off the area to work my way back into the nationwide group, and that’s my goal,” he said. “If that’s something that presents itself, it’s something I want to do. I miss being a part of that and I want to represent my nation again.”

If he returns to his usual form, there's no doubt the Yanks could do with his talent back over the pitch. Though they did earn four points against Costa Rica and Mexico

, they only managed one shot on target in those two matches.

“It could be great for the nationwide group,” Galaxy and U.S. defender Omar Gonzalez said of Donovan's potential return. “He's just another option to threaten teams behind. He brings a lot of speed and teams respect him. Teams respect who he is. He's also a great leader so having him back would be great for everyone.”

Both teams were able to produce chances within the second half, and Madrid cannot rightfully claim that it dominated this match, although it may feel it had the better opportunities.

The end result was another disappointing performance within a forgettable La Liga campaign for Jose Mourinho's side.

Cristiano Ronaldo, real madrid shirts: B+

Ronaldo made an admirable effort to pull his side level in this game. If not for his willingness to stay using the play, he likely never would have had an opportunity on goal in that situation.

He was once again active and dangerous on the wing in this game. He does not deserve blame for the draw, but he needed to produce one more moment of magic for his team to get a victory.

Rodri, Zaragoza: A-

When facing one with the European giants, players must leap headfirst into any window of opportunity. This can be what Rodri did on Zaragoza's lone goal.

He was fortunate to receive the ball, then took an ambitious touch toward goal in advance of shifting into another gear and getting a shot off. It had been a courageous play, and it paid off massively for Zaragoza.

Luka Modric, real madrid shirts: C-

Modric's grade takes a big hit because he was the one who lost possession on the play that led to Zaragoza's goal. That is a cardinal sin for a holding midfielder.

But this incident came in just the sixth minute. He had plenty of opportunities to atone for his error, and he failed to do so.

Helder Postiga, Zaragoza: B-

Zaragoza's leading goal-scorer had a chance to show up his compatriot, but the Portuguese striker did not have asignificantimpact on this match.

The Madrid centre-backs did an admirable job marking Postiga, but he needed to be more active and involved in order to lead his team to victory.

Gonzalo Higuain, Cheap real madrid shirts: C

Like Postiga, Higuain did not leave a mark on this match. Madrid's dangerous attacks came fromthewings and not through its lone striker.

Karim Benzema was on the bench for this fixture, but Mourinho opted to use his three substitutions elsewhere. This may be a decision that weighs heavily on his mind after the lackluster result.

What's Next

Madrid will have a Champions League tie towards Galatasaray on Wednesday just before returning to La Liga to take on Levante on Saturday.

Zaragoza will also be back on the pitch on Saturday having a league match towards Deportivo La Coruña.
